Project Officer 

Location: Lockerbie Town Centre

Hours: 35 hours

Salary: £21,840 - £23,660 (depending on experience) 

Contract: Employed - 12 Months with the Possibility to Extend Subject to securing additional funding.

About the role: 

The Lockerbie Old School Community Hub (LOS) are a registered charity working to help regenerate the DG11 area by repurposing the town's old Victorian primary school into a vibrant wellbeing and enterprise centre. 

We are recruiting for a Project Officer to provide admin support and oversee management of our new town centre community space. We are looking for someone with first class admin and marketing skills, along with experience of creating social media content, running events and engaging with the community.  Must be a self starter with a 'can do' attitude. You will need brilliant attention to detail, be practical, thoughtful, forward thinking, creative, industrious and have excellent customer service skills.  Knowledge of facilities/shop management would also be beneficial.

To ensure our community space is open when needed, we anticipate the majority of working hours to be Mon to Fri around typical office hours. There will be occasional evening and weekend work with time off in lieu.  The role will be based within Lockerbie Town Centre.  

You will have good knowledge of social media platforms and media apps like Canva. You will be able to work independently, with initiative, and have good verbal and written communication skills with experience in marketing.  Experience of the voluntary sector or community-oriented work, and website content writing would be an advantage, along with experience of event planning or producing press releases and newsletters. 

The job role includes, but is not limited to:

·         Management of our high street site.

·         Creating engaging social media and marketing campaigns.

·         Creating and overseeing community events. 

·         Organisation of rotas for staff and volunteers. 

·         Assisting the Project Development Manager with administrative tasks.

·         Applying for small funding applications.

·         Recruitment of new volunteers and members.

·         Management of our LOS website.

·         Compiling monthly board reports and social media stats

·         Recording and creating board meeting minutes. 

·         Compiling press releases and statements.
